What are peer reviewed articles?

Answer

Peer reviewed articles are written by experts and reviewed by other experts in the field before the article is published in the journal. In most cases the reviewers do not know the author of the article; the article succeeds or fails on its own merit, not the reputation of the expert.

Some databases allow you to limit searches for articles to peer reviewed journals only. If you are searching a database that does not allow you to limit your search to peer reviewed journals, you can also utilize the Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory library database to verify if a particular journal is peer reviewed.
